Wow. I really don't know what to think. But I have to say this short film is so well done. Gives you stuff to digest. I loved the ending.
moral of the story not to kill your inner animal ?
I wish this had anyone but Kanye in it. I'm not really interested in his supposedly self-aware attempts to repair his image.
Too bad. Good film ruined.
Does Kanye kill the demon inside of him?
How could this be an attempt to repair his image when talks about this film has been around for months before the MTV awards?
Trrrruuuueeee lol
Read what Rae wrote.
Who knows. lol I am still trying to figure it out myself. lol
It is def. well done. Spike Jonze does it again.

all have our demon to deal with I was waiting for him to fall out.very good short movie

I think its more along the lines of keep your inner animal in check.
Kanye's inner monkey commits seppuku, a suicide ritual reserved for atoning great shame.
does anyone know who remix this see you in my nightmares version?

what is the song at the end? the classical song?
I have no idea.
moonlight sonata by beezythoven

dude the quick shot of the sofia coppola wine case on the way into the office son. that is sick.
Maybe its the mini beast that we all have in us from our adolescence. The one that makes both children and childish adults act out; makes us act selfish; makes us revert to infantile behavior. The one that really comes out when we are drunk. Kanye has an innocent inner-demon just like the rest of us ” . . . I am so self conscious . . .” (K.W.). He is self-conscious that's why he wants to pay for the bottle at the beginning and why he is asking people if they know who he is at the club. I think he gains an awareness of this innocent-looking demon at the end. The mini beast committed suicide on its own at the end and I think it is because even Kanye's mini beast is tired of doing what its doing. He actually wants to grow up, unlike his idol (MJ). Say what you will, but Kanye is a marketing genius. All of what unfolded at MTVs VMAs was a planned experiment. Beyonce did have one of the best videos of all time though. Tact need not apply to marketing a rap star.
the animal represents his infamous EGO..
I'm guessing he realizes that his ego has turned himself into an animal…
kanye finally kills his ego
the whole video is about how by not keeping his ego in check he eventually watches it destroy itself
i think it's good to see kanye show himself in a different light (one that he notices he sometimes unknowingly reduces himself to), good to know he at least realizes he may run his mouth sometimes and let his ego take control over who he really is
Kanye is dumb. I hate Gold Digger
Damn I am loving all the thought everyone is putting behind this video! Good theories. Keep them coming.
I hope Kanye West dies in a fire. He sucks at acting and is trying to hard to save his image by making fun of himself. What an idiot.
LOL

WHATS ALL THE HYPE BEHIND THE SONG “TIME IS MONEY”???? IS IT JAY-Z OR ????? YOU DECIDE!!!!
Did none of you see whats comin out of his bodie? Its all small hearts… refering to the title, the situation is – in my opinion – that hes in the club getting too drunk because of heartbreak and that kind of stuff and he isnt getting anything clear, beeing rejected by a person he thought he knew and loved. Feelings I thought he wanted to deliver with 808s & heartbreaks. Eventhough now he might be over this relationship, most of the album was written in this mood. So this is part of the piece of art.
Nonetheless I can also follow, that the “animal” is his bad side, everyone has.
he finally killed what was left of his humility
we all have inner demons to kill
Did Spike Jones go back to grad school or something. That was retarded.
My interpretation: Kanye is drunk because the constant war he fights with himself is taking its toll, he’s at his lowest point. This causes his weakness, which manifests itself as arrogance and the need for acceptance/approval, to be in full view, he’s pitiful. The need and desire to be liked ironically pushed everyone away and leads to his dismissal by those from whom he seeks love. The sex scene is him bearing his self to the people(fans) who are really indifferent and at the end of the day, there is only him and his weaknesses(his exposed privates:Jiggaeseue double meanings). He purges himself only to realize the source of his weakness, his old self, the weak mouse(I think those are paper hearts, not rose pedals, ie. 808’s and Heartbreaks. They represent his pain from loss of love he’s experienced.). Once he separates himself from his weak self, he is reborn as a strong, confident being with inescapable influence. He orders his old self to commit suicide, for which there is no heaven, no redemption, only hell. Old Kanye is dead, he’s getting his Jay-Z, Rhianna on.
i mean to reply to keepingscore

nah screw that self-repair image crap this came out in the summer of 08 & this was a good short film i must say it was not ruined that goes out to whatever dumbass wrote that & kanye did not want the role anyways this was spike jonze own venture for film festival he was in & insisted kanye would be perfect for the role so kanye just went with the flow, so C' Mon Son ! get cha facts straight.
